Subject: Lillian

Dr. Charlesworth, I'm a gish fan, and have been trying to get one of her movies to view on tape if it is available. I remember it as coming out on TV in the 70's or 80's, and costarred Richard Thomas and another actress. The plot involved the young daughter of a shoemaker who asks the most talented of her father's workers to marry her. The father rejects her, but she and the husband set up their own shoemaking business, and fall in love after being married for some time. Lillian played the part of an older advisor to the couple, perhaps she was a relative of the girl. The movie was set in the late 1800's or early 1900's. I have tried for years to remember or find out the name of this movie, without sucess. Perhaps you would be so kind as to send me some info about the movie, like the name of it, and its availability on tape. Thanking you in advance, Anne Schmidt.
