We made a 10 day field trip to see the active Rio Grande Rift, the Valles Caldera and associated geologic features of Northern New Mexico.  The trip was led by Bill Rose, and helped by some experts in New Mexico geology.

This geologic field experience was designed to give students exposure to physical volcanology, and practice at reading and interpreting volcanic deposits in the field. It should also create a cultural awareness of a unique part of America.
