Introduction
This project was developed as a teaching aid with the support of the American Institute of Steel Construction. The objective is to introduce the user to various aspects of structural steel construction. This CD consists of different presentations, photographs, drawings, animations and schedules created from a case study, which can be used with educational purposes. The first case study is an office building. There are two presentations from different perspectives, construction management and technical. These presentations can be edited by the instructor by saving the files in a computer. In addition, there are several movies that describe production, detailing, fabrication and erection of structural steel. The movies were created as part of the Detailer Training Series by the American Institute of Steel Construction.
This CD can be viewed in two different ways. Upon insertion of the CD in your computer a main screen will appear to help you navigate through the CD. If the main screen does not open double click the file "Start Here". It can also be viewed as a set of folders containing files that can be opened individually. To navigate through the CD using folders start on the folder "AISCDigitalLibrary". It is recommended to close all other applications currently open on your computer before viewing this CD.
This program was created by Victor Daccarett and Professor Tim Mrozowski at Michigan State University. Special thanks to Douglas Steel Fabricating Corporation for their help and collaboration in the project.
