TOPOGRAPHY |
In general, the southern half of the Huron Creek watershed can be described as having gently rolling ground surface topography, with the eastern portion of this area being slightly hillier than the west. An approximate range of surface slopes is 0-12%. Ground surfaces in the northern half of the watershed are considerably steeper, with western areas having eastern-facing slopes and eastern areas having western-facing slopes. This “flume-like” topography is characteristic of a remnant glacial drainage way, with Huron Creek being the remaining watercourse. Slope percentages in these areas generally range from 12-25%. Contours showing the watershed's topography are included in the following aerial photograph. Aerial Photo of Huron Creek Watershed (1998)
