WATERFRONT PARK: SAFETY AND PRIOR USE

Developing the Huron Creek Watershed Management Plan

In the waterfront park, public access is important and improvements must support continued safe use.  The major concerns expressed were:

  • The potential for vegetation along the stream growing thick and high enough to block views of the park off from people in the parking lot, which could be a concern in the evenings.
  • An old foundation located along the portion of the channel leading to the culvert.

An old foundation associated with the Copper Range Rail operations.   Notice the large holes in the remaining floor. An unsuspecting Michigan Tech student finding a hole in the old floor.
