A proposed background investigation for this section of the WMP is a riparian buffer survey.   This survey will inventory conditions within the riparian zone along Huron Creek.   Generally, the goal is to quantify the amounts of developed versus undeveloped areas remain along the creek, and how far those zones extend away from the creek. Information regarding land ownership along the creek may also be included.   This type of information can be used to investigate the feasibility of implementation of a buffer ordinance, or to target areas that would most benefit from revegetation or stabilization applications.   A physical survey and/or aerial photo review may be used to complete this survey.
