STREAM CONDITIONS: FORMER HURON LAKE TO FROG POOL

Developing the Huron Creek Watershed Management Plan

The former Huron Lake is located southeast of the existing Wal-Mart. Huron Lake was a small impoundment that was drained and is now an existing wetland mitigation site.   Huron Creek flows out of this location through an additional mitigation area where the creek has been re-routed for a previous Wal-Mart expansion.   This area was recently disturbed /created, and vegetation has not had a chance to densely establish.   From the creek re-route area, the ground surface elevation drops as you near the Frog Pool.   Here the creek is flowing through a mine rock channel only.
