STREAMBANK STABILIZATION PLAN

Developing the Huron Creek Watershed Management Plan

This plan will include methods for stream bank stabilization where erosion is visible. Areas to be improved will be selected based on the amount erosion occurring, visibility, ease of implementation and other surrounding physical conditions. Stabilization will preferably be completed through establishment of native vegetation, although use of manufactured stabilizers such as coir logs or gabions may also be included. This plan will include a schedule, budget and funding information. Ideally, implementation will include public participation. to manage the stream bed and banks, the areas of concern are those segments of the stream with problems associated with sedimentation, erosion, or lack of habitat.
