The following report, written by Josh Reese, gives an overview of Huron Creek's water quality in terms of both organisms and chemical compounds. The report also discusses previous water quality monitoring performed by the Michigan DEQ, with their work focusing on the effect of landfill leachate on the stream.

In general, the iron content of the stream remains high in the portion of the stream downstream of the landfill.
