Hello and welcome to the Michigan Tech Biomedical Engineering Society's (BMES) web site. BMES has been present and active at Michigan Tech since 1981. This is remarkable considering the relatively recent explosion of Biomedical Engineering (BME) as a distinct and separate engineering discipline.

BMES tries to expose the MTU campus to a variety of Biomedical Engineering related topics. Trips to biomedical and bioinstrumentation companies, volunteer work for BME related organizations, and BME guest speakers are all typical activities partaken throughout the academic year. Our activities are open to anyone with an interest in Biomedical Engineering and are not exclusive to the membership.

For those interested in joining our chapter, our membership consists primarily of undergraduate students and is not strictly limited to Biomedical Engineering majors. Our current membership has students from four different engineering disciplines in addition to Biomedical Engineering. Mechanical Engineering-Engineering Mechanics, Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and even Civil Engineering are all represented.

Please feel free to explore our novice web site. You can join our emailing list free of charge and commitment by clicking on the link. It's something you must do, especially if you're a student at Tech having even the slightest interest in Biomedical related subjects.

If you have any questions, feel free to email us.
