Hello everyone,
I just found out that I sent the movie announcement to my class
instead of the filmlover list. So, if you can still make it,
I hope you can join us for the short films tomorrow.
For this week... per request of some viewers, we will change
the mood a little by showing two short comedy films:
"No Bikini" and "Antonia and Jane". ( more details below )
..my collection of comedy movies are a little limited.
Please feel free to pass the message around and invite
your friends. The more the merrier. Hope you can join us.
Regards,
Tom Co
===================================================
Date and Time: March 4, Wednesday, 6-8pm
Place: 308 Cooper Ave, Hancock
-------- Movie 1 ----------------
Title: No Bikini
Director: Claudia Morgado Escanilla
Partial List of Actors:
Matreya Fedor
Christine Lippa
Apollonia Vanova
Length: 9 mins
Language: English
Summary ( www.imdb.com )
"Robin takes us back to that glorious time when she was
seven years old and shows us how it defined her for the
rest of her life."
My Comments:
Sometimes it is the societal pressures that limit the
confidence of kids, specially young girls.
--------- Movie 2 -----------------
Title: Antonia and Jane
Director: Beeban Kidron
Partial List of Actors:
Imelda Staunton
Saskia Reeves
Bill Nighy
Brenda Bruce
US Rating: R
Language: English
Length: 71 mins
Summary: (by Teresa O'Donnell via www.imdb.com)
"Plain Jane Hartman hates her life. She's goofy,
boring and only has sex if she reads Iris Murdoch
novels out loud to her loopy boyfriend. Her oldest
friend Antonia McGill knows about everything. She
orders the right food; she can complain and get
results. She's beautiful and has a brilliant career.
Is it any wonder that they hate each other's guts?"
My Comments:
An old movie that never got wide release in the US,
except for BRAVO network in the 80's. A cute story
about "friends".
