Hello
everyone,
We are restarting the film showing again. As I mentioned
last week, the movies will now begin at 6:45 instead of
6:30 because my wednesday class now ends at 6pm.
We will start this year with another feel-good movie...
don't worry the darker movies will be coming.
For this Wednesday, we are showing "Spare Parts," directed by Sean
McNamara.
(more details below).
Please feel free to pass the message around and
invite your friends. Hope you can join us.
Regards,
Tom Co

"Four Hispanic high school students form a robotics
club under the leadership of their school's newest
teacher, Fredi. With no experience, 800 bucks, used
car parts and a dream, this rag tag team goes up
against the country's reigning robotics champion, MIT.
On their journey, they learn not only how to build
a robot- they learn to build a bond that will last
a lifetime."
My Comments:
The movie is based on a true story that appeared as
a Wired magazine article. Although far from perfect,
the film made a good effort to show the situations
on which some of the "dreamers" have to struggle
under. And the result is not as bad as I was initially
led to believe by the movie critics. I would recommend
for folks to focus more on the true story on which it
was based.
