GE5001 Intercultural Communication of Natural Hazards

Fall semester 2016
1 credit

Description and scope of the course: This course is meant to prepare students to communicate about environmental hazards with people of other cultures, especially in international, low-resource settings. While it is designed for Peace Corps Master’s International students, the course is open to any student interested in gaining a global perspective on risk communication and social aspects of hazards mitigation. The course material will reference both acute geological hazards (floods, landslides, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes) and longer-term hazards (climate variation, contamination).

Current students should see the Canvas course page for the most up-to-date information.
