Applied Mathematics

All students in the Applied Mathematics option will take a qualifying exam over material covered in the following courses:

1.

A Graduate Linear Algebra course (MA5330 or MA5627) and

2.

Any two of the following four required sequences:

• Real and Complex Analysis (MA5401, MA5402, MA5405)
• Differential Equations (MA5510, MA5511, MA5565)
• $\left\{ \begin{array}{l} \mbox{Math Continuum Mechanics (MA5548)} \\ \mbox{Asymptotic \& Perturbation Methods (MA5531)} \end{array}\right.$
• Numerical Analysis (MA5627, MA5628, MA5629).
