Edward M. Nadgorny - Dislocation Dynamics Study in Materials
Selective Dislocation Etching and Motion in Ni3Al Single Crystals
A (100) surface of a boron-free Ni3Al sample after chemical polishing and etching for 3 min in
solutions #1 and #3, respectively, see the relevant paper (Olympus BH-2
and Pixera Pro digital camera, NeoSPlan 50NIC, with total magnification of about 1000 X).
The dislocation selective etchant reveals not only new ("fresh") individual dislocations but also individual as-grown and
annealed ("aged") dislocations, as well as dislocations in grain boundaries.
