Central America:  Geology, Natural History and Hazards

Fall 2006

This class is being held for the first time.  It is meant as background for people doing geologically based research in Central America.

Sources: Few general publications exist.  There is one published book, Geology of Central America by Richard Weyl, 1980 (QE210 .W413 1980) and a second one is now in press (Central America: Geology, Resources and HazardsEdited by: Jochen Bundschuh, Guillermo E. Alvarado).

We will approach the subject by using current topical readings and expert visitors, who will speak in the Monday seminars and then perhaps visit our class also.
