Sewage Treatment Plant
Sewage Treatment Plant
2012
What we do with sewage matters greatly. In Houghton we have a modern, prize-winning system. It is located next to the lake where leakage would create serious problems. It purifies the water and returns it to the lake in purer condition than the lake itself. All citizens should be involved in clean water efforts, because it is vital to protect our environment from toxic or unhealthy waste.
The sewage treatment plant in Houghton is excellent and produces no effects on nearby wildlife areas such as the Pilgrim Delta, or the Houghton water supply, or Portage Lake and Lake Superior. It is important that we remain attentive to the need for advanced, sustained efforts at sewage treatment.
Sewage is our problem
