Silver Animals

Rise up this mornin',

Smiled with the risin' sun,

Three little birds

Pitch by my doorstep

Singin' sweet songs

Of melodies pure and true,

Sayin', "This is my message to you-ou-ou:"

    --Bob Marley

Birds, mainly.

The population is low here. Never crowded. But they will watch you carefully, even if you are quiet and far away.

Some say once you're gone you're gone forever,
and some say you're gonna come back.
Some say you rest in the arms of the Saviour
if in sinful ways you lack.
Some say that they're comin' back in a garden,
bunch of carrots and little sweet peas.
I think I'll just let the mystery be.
Iris Dement

Looked into your eyes this morning.

You were far away.

You must have known I was looking for you.

You knew you couldn't stay.

All these winds blowin' on me.

Blowing in the nighttime lonely.

Blew on over the ocean to you.

Blew my words away.

     --Arlo

On the banks of the river, where the willows hang down,

Where the wild birds all warble with a low moaning sound,

Down in the hollow where the water runs cold,

It's there I first listened to the lies that you told.

It's a restless hungry feeling

That don't mean no one no good.

When ev'rything I'm a-sayin'

You can say it just as good.

You're right from your side,

I'm right from mine.

We're both just too many mornings

An' a thousand miles behind.

—Bob Dylan
