- Objectives:
- This course introduces covers numerical techniques for solving linear systems, computing eigenvalues, computing Singular Value Decompositions etc.
We will cover most of the text.
- Reading:
- Read the next lecture before class. Class will typically focus only on highlighting the main points, it is critical that you read ahead to pick up important details and generate questions about points that are unclear.
The organization of the text is simple Lecture 1, Lecture 2, ... We will try to cover a lecture each day.
- Homework and Programming
- Weekly HW problems from the text.
Due Fridays.- Weekly programming problems. I would suggest using Matlab or Mathematica. It is very important that you document and test your code. This includes making sure that input etc. is appropriate.
Due Mondays.
