Purpose
The increased emphasis on process safety has resulted in an increased need to characterize the hazardous properties of materials. The purpose of the Hazards Laboratory is to improve:
- The quality and quantity of publically available data on hazardous chemicals.
- Our fundamental understanding of the properties of hazardous materials.
- The characterization methods.
- Our understanding of how these data are used to handle and process these materials safely.
