The Department of Mathematical Sciences offers programs leading to the degrees of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and Master of Science (M.S.). These degrees may be obtained with a specialization in one of the following areas:

Applied Mathematics
Discrete Mathematics
Pure Mathematics (M.S. only)
Statistics

Although students specialize in one of the above areas, they are encouraged to broaden their backgrounds by taking courses in every option.
