We anticipate that students will specialize in either Applied Statistics or in
Mathematical Statistics & Probability. Students in the Applied Statistics option will
take a qualifying exam over material covered in the following courses:
-
Linear Algebra (MA5330)
-
Mathematical Statistics (MA5711, MA5712)
-
Linear Models (MA5731)
-
Regression and Experimental Design (MA4710, MA4720)
-
Multivariate Statistical Methods (MA5741).
Students who specialize in Mathematical Statistics & Probability will take a
qualifying exam over material covered in the following courses:
- 1.
- The Graduate Linear Algebra course (MA5330)
- 2.
- Any two of the following three required sequences:
-
Real and Complex Analysis (MA5401, MA5402, MA5405)
-
Stochastic Processes (MA5721)
