My research is focused on the development and application of numerical models to problems in the coastal ocean and the Great Lakes. A key component of my current research is to establish an integrated modeling system for the Great Lakes. This system will have coupled Water-Ice-Atmosphere-biological(NPZD)-water quality model components. The research goals are 1) analyzing, predicting and better responding to short-term episodic physical and ecological events 2) projecting the long-term influence of the climate change on the great lakes ecosystem and helping the decision-making for the Great Lakes ecosystem management.
My modeling research experiences in other regions include Massachusetts Coastal Waters, Gulf of Maine, East China Sea, Maritime Continent, Persian Gulf.
If you are interested in working with me, please see the opportunities.
