Master of Science Degree

The M.S. degree in the Mathematical Sciences is offered in

Applied Mathematics
Discrete Mathematics
Pure Mathematics
Statistics

and can be obtained under three plans:

Plan A, Thesis Option

• A minimum of 21 credits of course work and
• 6-9 credits of thesis research, for a
• 30 credit minimum total.

Plan B, Report Option

• A minimum of 24 credits of course work and
• 2-6 credits of research report, for a
• 30 credit minimum total.

Plan C, Course Work Option

• A minimum of 30 credits of course work and
• a comprehensive exam.

Most students take two years to finish their Master's degree.
