The Study of Fundamental Processes for Nanoscale Engineering
Dislocation "engineering" is of new interest for novel fabrication techniques where the characteristic dimensions of produced structures approach the atomic limit.
- The dislocation engineering allows dislocations of the chosen type and number to be introduced in a material, arranged in specified groups or moved to a given selected position inside the material.
- The processes responsible for such behavior are studied in semiconductors that can be used as substrates for epitaxial growth and other nanoscale applications where controlling the real structure of the material is of critical importance.
