The Doctor of Philosophy Degree

The Doctoral degree is offered in three areas of concentration




Applied Mathematics
Discrete Mathematics
Statistics




It requires the course work listed for the Master's degree in the chosen concentration, and the following additional courses:

Mathematical Modeling I & II (MA5504 and MA5505)
Combinatorial Optimization I & II (MA5211 and MA5212)
Statistical Methods (MA5701)

Doctoral students are required to complete a minimum of 30 credits, including dissertation credits, beyond the Master's degree. Thus, doctoral students take a minimum of 60 credits beyond the Bachelor's degree.
