I am the Associate Dean for Research in the College of Computing and the William and Gloria Jackson Associate Professor in ECE and CS at Michigan Tech University. I also direct the Institute of Computing and Cybersystemsand PRIME Lab. My research areas are pattern recognition and machine learning, signal processing, and sensor fusion.

Prior to my current position, I was an NSF / CRA Computing Innovation Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Michigan State University. My mentor was Dr. Anil Jain.

I received my Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Missouri in July, 2010. My advisor was Jim Keller. My dissertation research examined clustering in relational data and ontologies (PDF).
